1 Ball Dribbling Drills

Stationary 

1 Ball Pound Dribble

Pound dribbles:

Dribble the ball below your knee with one hand.  Try to get as many dribbles as you can in 30 Seconds

1 Ball In and Out Dribble

In and Out dribble:

Dribble the basketball and bring your hand on top of the ball towards the middle of your body and rotate your hand back to the outside of your body.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 Seconds

1 Ball Side to Side Dribble

Side to Side dribble:

Dribble the basketball on a bounce towards the middle of your body and then bounce it back to the outside of your body without it crossing your midline.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

1 Ball Front Back Dribbles

Front Back dribble:

Dribble the basketball on a bounce backwards and then forward in the same way.  This should be done on the outside of your athletic stance.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Front Back Side to Side Dribble:

Dribble the basketball on a bounce backwards, forwards, to the middle and back to the original spot and repeat this action.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds

Over and back (Cone):

Dribble the basketball over the top of the cone and back while keeping the ball in control.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

1 Ball Dribble Around a Cone

Dribble Around a Cone:

Dribble the basketball in a circular motion around a cone.  Try to keep your dribble as low as possible.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds

1 Ball Low High Low Dribble

High to Low Dribble:

Dribble the basketball as low as possible, while keeping your dribble alive move it to as high a point as possible and repeat.  Continue this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Behind the Back Dribble:

Dribble the basketball behind your back from right to left hand without moving your feet.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds

1 Ball Between the Legs Dribble

Between the Legs Dribble:

Have your legs in a forward backward position and dribble the basketball on a bounce in between your legs back and forth.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 1 30 seconds.

1 Ball Flip the Hips Dribble

Flip the Hips Dribble:

Start with your feet in athletic stance side by side.  Jump stop to a stance were your feet are forwards and backwards, then switch which foot is forward and which one is back and repeat with a through the legs dribble.  Continue this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds

Figure 8 Dribble:

Dribble the basketball around one leg while keep the ball as low as possible then bring the ball back to the front and around the opposite leg to make the shape of an eight.  Continue this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

3 Move Combo Dribbles

3 Move Combo Dribbles

Pick a series of 3 moves in a row and try to continuously repeat these moves without a dribble in between.  See how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Crossover Dribble

Crossover Dribble

Dribble the ball on a bounce in front of your body from one hand to the other.  Try to stay low and keep your hand on the side of the ball.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Crossover Behind the Back

Crossover Behind the Back Dribble

Dribble the ball on a bounce in front of your body from one hand to the other and then do the same thing behind your back.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Between the Leg Crossover

Around the Leg Crossover Dribble:

Dribble the basketball using a crossover in front of your body then dribble through your legs back to the original hand.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds

Heavy Ball Pound Dribble

Heavy Ball Pound Dribble:

Using a heavy basketball, dribble the ball below your knee as fast as you can.  Try to keep your upper body still while you do this.  Repeat this action and see how many you can do in 30 seconds.

Tight Crossover Dribble

Tight Crossover Dribble:

Using a crossover dribble see how many tiny crossovers (as short a distance as possible) you can make in 30 seconds.

Side to Side Crossover Dribble

Side to Side Crossover:

Dribble the ball with one hand from side to side, Once you have done this make a crossover dribble to the opposite hand and repeat.  See how many you can get in 30 seconds.

Leg Wrap Dribble

Leg Wrap Dribbles:

Using a low dribble have the ball circle around your leg 3 times with the same hand, then switch the dribble to the opposite hand and repeat.  See how many you can complete in 30 seconds.
